Burnout. Breathe. Work. Repeat.

magical musings

Being a small business owner is HARD sometimes. I’m technically pretty new here, so I’m still learning.

There are a lot of ups and downs, wins and losses, amazing ideas and total duds.

At times it can feel like a very lonely and exhausting place. The fun can slowly creep out of your magical world and you don’t even notice until it’s too late. Between navigating this app, website maintenance, keeping up with orders, ensuring all supplies are stocked and wearing every hat possible within a company - this thing can become all enveloping.

Little fires start to ignite in places that don’t seem like a big deal. But eventually the flames start to wander like ribbons on the wind and all of a sudden, it’s gone wild and you’re out of water.

Enter: burnout.

You’re mentally closed for business. You’re pushing through your days with quicksand at your feet; barely keeping yourself afloat on an ocean that continues to rise.

Pause. Breathe.

I think it’s ok to be real, to feel uninspired, to take a break and just chill for a while. That’s what I’ve been doing lately and I’m slowly getting back to the carefree place I once was.

I can see it on the horizon. It’s beautiful and welcoming, magical and warm... and just out of reach. But I’m getting there and that’s ok! Slow is good.

I prefer to sit in my big feelings. I’ll be honest that sometimes my problems are dealt to me and sometimes my problems are created by me. No matter how they get here, they ALWAYS bring a ricochet of a thousand emotions and that’s when I know to pause.

I think slower, I move slower, I take up more space, I eat what I want. I’m in a cocoon, I’m being good at respecting myself and I’m taking my time.

This way I can wade through my problems slowly and by the time I emerge, I have figured out solutions that are good for my soul. Or good ℯ𝓃ℴ𝓊ℊ𝒽, which is ok too.

Always do what is right for you - your heart will let you know if it thinks otherwise. Remember that you aren’t alone on your path and there are people rooting for you even when you don’t think there are.
